Three Amigos

September 16th marks the day in 1810 that Mexico declared independence from Spain. This authentic Mexican drink embodies the three colors of the Mexican flag – green, white and red. It also represents the traditional style of enjoying tequila – straight! However, this cocktails is not a shot; it’s for sipping.

Three Amigos con Don Modesto consists of a shot glass of fresh lime juice, a shot glass of premium Tequila Don Modesto and a shot glass of fresh and flavorful Sangrita.

To Make:

Pour separately into tall shot glasses

2 oz. Tequila Don Modesto Blanco

2 oz. Sangrita

2 oz. Lime juice

This is a variation of a drink that has long been enjoyed in Jalisco, the Mexican State where Tequila in made. One first takes a sip of the Tequila, then chases it with a sip of Sangrita and lime juice. Take it slow & enjoy. Happy Birthday Mexico!

One popular way to enjoy tequila is with Cola.

“Charro Negro“

• 2 ounces of your Don Modesto Anejo Tequila
• 4 ounces of Cola
• Squeeze of lime juice

In a tall glass with ice, mix the Anejo Tequila and cola. Squeeze with lime.

For the risk takers out there, I recommend a little spice. Add a little fire to your Don Modesto tequila. .

“The Last F-You“

• 1 oz. Don Modesto Tequila
• 1 oz. Southern Comfort
• 2 oz. Triple Sec
• Dash of Hot Sauce (to taste)

Mix in a shaker with ice, strain and pour (not meant for sipping; more of a shot drink).

Cup O’ Agave Gold

• 2 oz. Don Modesto Reposado Tequila
• 4 oz. Lemon-Lime Soda
• 1 Lemon Wedge

Pour Tequila and soda into a tall glass nearly filled with ice.  Stir well and garnish with a lemon wedge

Agave Kiss

• 2 oz. Don Modesto Blanco Tequila
• 1 oz. white crème de cacao
• 1 oz. double cream
• 1/2 oz. Chambord

In a shaker with ice, add Don Modesto Blanco Tequila, white crème de cacao, double cream and Chambord. Shake for 15 seconds. Pour into a chilled cocktail glass, rimmed with white chocolate, add a spear of fresh raspberries, and serve.

El Diablo

• 1 1/2 oz. Don Modesto Tequila
• 1/2 oz. Crème de Cassis
• 1/2 Lime Ginger Ale

Fill an old fashioned glass half full with ice, squeeze the lime over the ice and place the lime into the glass. Add tequila and crème de cassis, top with ginger ale and stir gently.

Mexican Martini

• 2 oz. Don Modesto Blanco Tequila
• 1 ½ oz. Cointreau orange liqueur
• 2 oz. sweet and sour mix1 oz. lime juice
• 2 oz. orange juice
• Splash of lemon-lime juice
• 2 olives

Pour all ingredients into a large cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into a large martini glass with a salt rim. Add two olives on a spear and serve.

The Jeweler

• 1 oz. Don Modesto Blanco Tequila
• 1 oz. Don Modesto  Anejo Tequila

In a shot glass, first pour the BlancoTequila. Next gently (over a spoon is ideal) add the Anejo Tequila.

Renegade

Who doesn’t like Tequila? Don Modesto Tequila cocktail with an attitude.

• 1 oz. Don Modesto Reposado Tequila
• 1 oz. Triple Sec1 oz. Cointreau
• 1 oz. Southern Comfort
• 1 oz. Pineapple Juice

Combine all in a shaker half-filled with ice. Shake well and strain into a tall glass nearly filled with ice. Enjoy!

Modesto Raspberry Margarita

• 2 oz. Don Modesto Blanco Tequila
• 1 cup fresh raspberries
• 1/2 oz. orange juice
• 1/2 oz. agave nectar
• Juice of ½ lemon

Blend in blender with ice and serve in a champagne flute.

Mexican Hot Chocolate

• 2 cups milk
• 1 disk of Ibarra chocolate
• Whipped Cream
• Don Modesto Blanco Tequila
• Warm the milk and chocolate in a saucepan. Stir with a molinillo or whisk until the chocolate is melted and the mixture begins to boil. Remove from the heat and froth the chocolate with the molinillo or the whisk. Serve immediately in demi-tasse: 5 parts hot chocolate to 1 part Don Modesto Blanco Tequila. Finish with dollop of whipped cream.

Dulce de Modesto

• 2 oz. Tequila Don Modesto Reposado
• 1 oz. Martell cognac
• 1 oz. Cointreau.5 oz Lime juice
• 1 tbsp. Agave nectar
• Large-grained sugar

Sugar on rim; garnish with lemon wedge.

Modesto Caramel Apple Pie

• 1 oz. Don Modesto Tequila
• 1/2 oz. Hiram Walker Butterscotch Schnapps
• 1 oz. Apple Cider
• 1 tsp Fresh Lemon Juice

Shake vigorously with ice and strain into martini glass. Garnish with Apple Slice

Modesto Besitos

• 1.5 parts Don Modesto Anejo Tequila
• 1 part Limoncello
• 1 part Stoli Citros
• Dash of grenadine Juice of half a lemon

Shake well and serve up in a martini glass, garnish with a gummy heart.

Toronha (named after Toronja – grapefruit in Spanish

• 2 oz. Don Modesto tequila
• 2 oz. Grapefruit juice
• 1 tbsp Grenadine
• 5 oz. Triple sec

Mix in a blender over ice and strain into a sour glass.

Modesto Grenada

• 1 oz. Don Modesto Tequila
• Splash of Grapefruit juice
• Splash of Grenadine

Pour tequila in highball glass, fill with grapefruit juice and top with grenadine.

Icebreaker

• 2 oz. Don Modesto Tequila
• 2 oz. Grapefruit juice
• 1 tbsp Grenadine
• 5 oz. Triple sec

Mix in a blender over ice and strain into a sour glass.

Modesto Bloody Maria

• 2 parts Don Modesto Blanco
• Fill glass with your favorite Bloody Mary mix
• Sprinkle coarse black pepper

Serve in a highball glass over ice and garnish with a lime wedge, celery and cherry tomatoes.

Modesto Agave Nectar Margarita – made with Organic Agave Nectar.

• 1 1/2oz. Don Modesto Tequila Blanco, Reposado or Añejo
• 1 oz. lime juice (app. the juice from one lime)
• ¾ oz. pure, organic Agave Nectar
• ¾ oz. pure spring water

Gold Rush-Strike it Rich

• 1 oz. Gold Tequila
• 1 oz. Goldschlager

Combine ingredients with ice in a mixing glass. Mix well, strain into a shot glass.

Don Modesto Mango Mojito

• 1 1/2 oz. of Don Modesto Blanco Tequila
• 3 fresh mint sprigs
• 2 tsp. sugar
• 1 tbsp. fresh lime juice
• 2 1/2 oz. fresh mango juice Splash of club soda

Muddle the mint leaves, sugar and lime juice in the bottom of a tall glass. Add Don Modesto and mango juice. Add a splash of club soda and ice cubes. Serve with a mint leaf garnish.

Cinco de Mayo

• 2 1/2 oz. Tequila
• 1 oz. Grenadine
• 1 oz. Rose’s Lime Juice

Combine with ice in a shaker and mix well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with a wedge of lime.
